    What our customers say

    4.9 out of 5 from 519 reviews

Your fitters replaced our aerial today. They were very professional and clearly outlined the work required so that we could receive a good signal.

    Peter, via Reviews.io

I wanted Freesat but due to issues with the building it wasn’t an option, engineers explained everything and said they could install a Freeview aerial for my TV. Work carried out straight away promptly and professionally.

    How it works

    1. Send the form or call

Tell us your postcode and what's going on, and we'll book a time that suits you.

    2. We check the signal at your address

The engineer tests the signal where the aerial will go and tells you which aerial it needs, and why.

    3. Price agreed before any work starts

You get a price for the actual job, and nothing happens until you've said yes to it.

    What we fit

    • New Freeview aerial installation

New build, new extension or a property that's never had one. We check the signal at your address and fit the aerial that suits it.

    • Replacement and upgrade

An old wideband aerial on a marginal signal is one of the most common causes of a poor picture. Replacing it usually fixes the lot in one visit.

    • Extra TV points

A second or third point in a bedroom, kitchen or garden room, cabled and amplified properly so the original point doesn't lose picture.

    • Freesat and satellite

Dish installation, realignment and replacement, plus Freesat as an option where terrestrial reception at your address is genuinely poor.

    • Satellite TV breaking up

Picture freezing or breaking up on a satellite dish, often worse in wind or rain. Usually the dish alignment, a failed LNB or the cable, and usually a repair.

    • Communal and commercial systems

Flats, HMOs, care homes, hotels, pubs and offices. Communal distribution, headends and multi-room feeds, planned around the building being in use.

    • TV wall mounting

Wall mounted and levelled, cables hidden, and sockets and the aerial point moved behind the screen where the wall allows it.

What we don't do. We don't sell indoor aerials, brackets, cable or fixings for you to fit yourself. Everything we do is fitted at your property by our own engineers.

    Straight answer on cost

    What changes the price

No call-out charge on a booked job, and the price is agreed before any work starts. The engineer prices the job once they've seen it. No hourly meter running, and no work carried out that you haven't said yes to.

We don't publish prices, because two houses on the same street can be two different jobs. These are the six things that change it, biggest first.

Signal strength can change a lot over a short distance. A house on one side of a hill can get a strong signal while one a few streets away, on the other side, is marginal.

A standard wideband aerial is enough where the signal is strong. A marginal address needs a higher gain grouped aerial, and sometimes a different transmitter altogether. The aerial is the part that has to match your address, and it's the part most often got wrong on a cheap install.

Most houses are a ladder job. A three storey terrace, a steep pitch, a conservatory in the way, a chimney you can only reach from the far side, or anything over a public footpath can mean a tower or scaffold. That's a separate cost, and we'd rather flag it early than spring it on you.

We won't work off a ladder where it isn't safe to. If access is the problem, we'll tell you what it needs and you can decide.

One point in the front room, using the existing cable, is quick. Three points on new cable, run outside and dropped in behind the plaster in three rooms, is most of a day, and the cable itself adds up.

Where a cable goes matters as much as how long it is. Clipping it neatly under a soffit and down a corner is a different job from lifting floorboards or getting through a stone gable.

Sometimes the aerial has to go higher to clear a roofline, a tree line or a neighbour's extension. That means a longer mast, a heavier duty bracket and often a guy kit, all of which have to be specified for wind loading rather than guessed.

It's the difference between an aerial that survives a hard winter on an exposed roof and one we're back to look at in February.

Splitting one aerial across several rooms drops the signal at every point. A masthead or distribution amplifier puts that back, and on a communal system the distribution is most of the work.

Worth knowing: an amplifier on an already poor signal amplifies the noise with it. If the aerial is the problem, an amplifier isn't the fix, and we'll say so rather than sell you one.

A corroded connector, a water-damaged downlead or a loose bracket is a repair, and a repair is a fraction of the cost of a replacement. A 20-year-old aerial that's been re-strapped twice is a replacement, and patching it again is money you spend twice.

We don't decide which it is from a phone call. The engineer tests the signal at the aerial and at the wall plate, and tells you which one you're looking at before anything comes off the roof.

    Why WeFit Home Tech

Forty years of getting on roofs in all weathers

We're a family run business, and we've been fitting and repairing aerials for over 40 years. We know which transmitters serve which streets, and which addresses have always been awkward.

    • Over 40 years installing. Not a franchise, and not a lead reseller passing your details on.
    • Our own engineers. Employed by us, so the person who prices the job is accountable for it.
    • One visit wherever possible. Vans carry the common aerials, masts, brackets and cable, so most jobs are diagnosed and finished on the first visit.
    • Workmanship guarantee. If something we've fitted isn't right, we come back and put it right.

    Common questions

What people ask us before booking

    Do you cover Leeds?

Yes, our engineers work across Leeds and the surrounding area. Not sure if you're in our patch? Pop your postcode in the form and we'll tell you straight away.

Will a new aerial fix my picture?

If the aerial is the problem, yes, and on an old or corroded aerial it often is. But a poor picture can also come from the cable, a connection or a splitter, and a new aerial won't fix those. The engineer tests the signal at the aerial and at the wall plate first, and tells you what will actually fix it before anything is fitted.

Can you get Freeview working in a poor signal area?

Usually, yes. Signal can change a lot over a few streets, especially where hills get in the way, and a lot of poor pictures come down to the wrong aerial for the address rather than no signal at all. A higher gain aerial, a different transmitter or extra height often solves it. Where terrestrial reception genuinely isn't workable, Freesat is the alternative, and we'll tell you plainly if that's where you are.

Can you add a second TV point?

Yes, and it's one of the jobs we're asked for most. We cable and amplify it properly so the original point doesn't lose picture quality, which is what usually happens when a splitter is pushed onto an existing feed.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

There's no separate call-out charge on a booked job. The engineer looks at the work, gives you a price for the job in front of them, and nothing starts until you've agreed it.

Do you work at height, and what if scaffold is needed?

Most jobs are done safely from a ladder. Where they can't be, on a three storey terrace, a steep pitch or anything over a public footpath, we'll tell you that a tower or scaffold is needed and what that involves before you commit. We won't work off a ladder where it isn't safe to.
