What is Starlink?
Starlink is a satellite internet service from SpaceX, Elon Musk’s company. It’s designed to provide fast internet in places where traditional options don’t work, like rural or remote areas.
If your current broadband is slow or unreliable, Starlink could be your best option for decent internet at home. Right now, it’s mainly for fixed locations, but a mobile version is being developed.
How Does Starlink Work?
Starlink uses a system of satellites that orbit the Earth. These satellites send internet signals to a dish installed at your home. When you sign up, you’ll order a kit from starlink.com.
The kit includes:
- A dish
- Mounting gear
- A router
- A power supply
Once set up, you’ll need to pay a monthly fee to use the service. It’s not like standard broadband, but it might be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

What Are the Benefits?
We offer professional installation services in your area. While the kit is easy to set up, proper installation ensures the best performance. The dish needs a clear view of the sky without any trees, buildings, or other obstacles. Mounting it above roof height also helps.
We’ll find the best spot for strong, stable Wi-Fi and make sure everything is safely installed. Struggling with Wi-Fi dead zones in your home? We can fix that too.
Things to Consider
- Starlink’s monthly cost is higher than traditional broadband.
- Availability depends on your location. Check the Starlink website to see if your area is covered.
Is Starlink Right for You?
If your broadband is slow or unreliable, Starlink could be the solution. It’s quick to install, designed for rural areas, and offers a fast, reliable connection similar to city living.

Starlink & Copper Lines
Starlink offers one of the most effective solutions for getting fast, reliable internet in rural areas. Because the signal is transmitted via satellites in low Earth orbit, there’s no need for traditional cabling — making it ideal for remote locations where broadband infrastructure doesn’t exist. Everything you need comes in the box, so you can get connected without waiting for engineers to run wires to your property.
In many rural areas, older copper lines can barely deliver 10–30 Mbps, and reaching 100 Mbps is rare. With Starlink, users typically see speeds starting around 200 Mbps, and in some cases, it can reach 500–600 Mbps. And as more satellites are added to the network, performance is only expected to improve further.
However, it’s important to consider the costs. Starlink isn’t cheap — with equipment, installation, and a monthly fee of around £75, it’s a bigger investment than standard broadband. It can also be affected by severe weather, which may cause temporary outages.
Still, for many in rural or hard-to-reach areas, Starlink offers a level of speed and reliability that simply isn’t available through other providers. If your current internet setup is holding you back, it’s a solution well worth considering.
