Starlink Installation

Starlink Overview

What is starlink?

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation service provided and operated by Elon Musk Space X organisation. Starlink guarantees to deliver “high-speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable or completely unavailable”. Currently, it only works for homes and isn’t mobile, but that’s coming.

There are a few components to Starlink: The satellite internet constellation (which is also called Starlink) that beams internet access down to Earth, the ground-based hardware needed to connect to Starlink’s satellite internet service, and the subscription fee that SpaceX charges for you to use its internet.

We offer a professional starlink installation service across our coverage area, but you do need to order your starlink kit (www.starlink.com). It will come with the dish, mounting hardware, router, power supply & additional accessories.

We are experts in finding the wifi hotspots and the not spots around your property which ensure that you make the most of your starlink service.

The Starlink Dish needs to have a clear ‘line of sight’, and needs to be installed using a secure method to ensure that the internet service gives reliable operation.

Starlink operates best when the Dish is installed above roof height.

The benefits

Here are some of the benefits of Starlink

  • Faster speeds: Starlink can offer download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 20 Mbps. This is much faster than traditional satellite internet providers, which typically offer speeds of only 10-20 Mbps.
  • Lower latency: Latency is the time it takes for a signal to travel from one point to another. Starlink’s low latency of 20-40 milliseconds is comparable to traditional cable and fiber internet services. This makes it ideal for gaming, streaming, and other activities that require real-time communication.
  • Wider coverage: Starlink is designed to provide internet service to people in rural and remote areas that are not served by traditional broadband providers.
  • Reliable: Starlink is not affected by weather conditions like traditional satellite internet providers. This means that you can expect a reliable connection even during storms or heavy rain.
  • Portability: Starlink is portable, so you can take it with you wherever you go. This makes it a good option for RVers, boaters, and other people who travel frequently.
  • It is great for rural properties.

The drawbacks

However, there are also some potential drawbacks to Starlink:

  • Cost: Starlink is more expensive than traditional satellite internet providers.
  • Limited availability: Starlink is not yet available in all areas. You can check the Starlink website to see if your address is eligible.

Overall, Starlink has the potential to offer a number of benefits over traditional broadband providers. However, it is important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding if it is the right option for you.
