Have you heard about Starlink and was wondering if it’s right for you? It’s a satellite internet service from SpaceX – yep, that’s Elon Musk’s company – and it’s made for places where normal broadband doesn’t really do the job.
If you live somewhere rural or remote and your current connection is slow or unreliable, Starlink could be just what you need.
Right now, it’s mostly for fixed locations like your home – but a mobile version is in the pipeline.
How It Works
Starlink sends internet from satellites in orbit down to a dish you set up at your place. You order the kit straight from their website – it comes with everything you need: the dish, mounting gear, router and power supply.
Once it’s installed, you just pay a monthly fee. It works differently to traditional broadband, but for a lot of people, it’s the first decent option they’ve had.
