Case Study – External Garage CCTV

In this job, we got a camera signal to an external garage with no way of running a physical cable; our solution was to beam a Wi-Fi signal from the main house to the garage. To do this, we used a wifi bridge, which allows you to send wifi signals up to 10 km away as long as there is a clear line of sight. Once this was established, the equipment was installed and set up. We always try to keep wires out of sight and as discreet as possible. This completed install allows live remote viewing on a device anywhere, anytime.

These devices work on PoE (power over Ethernet) or 12v input; you can run a cable up to 100m without additional power supply input. This was a 2-camera system for the cameras and was Hikvision, but we also use Dahua now; these are the best two-rated cameras in the UK.

There is remote access via a phone once set up, so it can either be viewed on a live monitor and/or viewed on a phone/tablet.
